GOD'S GRANDEUR BY G.M.HOPKINS

GOD'S GRANDEUR BY G.M.HOPKINS

This poem was written in February 1877 by G.M.HOPKINS. This meterically unusual sonnet exemplifies Hopkin's flexible craftsmanship in blending the line to the precise configuration of his thought. In order to express emotional intensity, sometimes two stressed syllables are brought close together. The central thought of the poem is that, despite what man has done to the world, it proclaims the Grandeur of God's creation.
