GOD'S GRANDEUR BY G.M.HOPKINS                      This poem was written in February 1877 by G.M.HOPKINS. This meterically unusual sonnet exemplifies Hopkin's flexible craftsmanship in blending the line to the precise configuration of his thought. In order to express emotional intensity, sometimes two stressed syllables are brought close together. The central thought of the poem is that, despite what man has done to the world, it proclaims the Grandeur of God's creation.

JOHN DRYDEN                     Dryden's contributions to English criticism are significant and spectacular. His genius is myriad and his achievements are tremendous. Dryden was a great poet, a great satirist, a great dramatist and a great critic. He found English language brick and made it marble. Dryden is rightly called the father of English criticism.
